We're two kids, all grown up. Sort of. We both grew up on the East Coast, went to college just outside of Boston, got married 3 years after graduation, and lived there for 1 more year before moving across the country to southern California. Both the Boston area and our college friendships will always be dear to us! (BEEEEEP! - Dave's rolling his eyes)
Then our journey brought us to study at Fuller Theological Seminary, and live intentionally in community. It was a pretty sweet time of our lives!! We were super busy for 4 years straight: worked our way through graduate school and had a kid (JJ) on the side! We also met amazing friends whom we cherish, studied amazing things, and changed in amazing ways.
Then our journey took us to live in Ohio for 1.5 years. We thought we were going to be there for 3 months, after we had sold almost all of our big belongings (only thing left was the car) and waited on an international assignment. We experienced surprising blessings in Ohio, from being around family, meeting great friends, to the re-discovered joys of apple and blueberry picking, to snowy winter days, to summer BBQs, to "bands of brothers" and to cabin getaways with friends!
Then our journey brought us back to California, where we lived for another 9 months while Dave worked again as the Fuller Coffee Shop manager and Betsy worked for a non-profit company. We became happily reacquainted with the Fuller community we had missed, Southern California which we also missed, and dove into fund-raising for our move to France.
Then we served in Montpellier, France for about 10 months collaborating with a local Protestant church discovering new ways of being a church that is relevant and missional to its community. Now, we are moving to Croatia for an initial 3.5 year assignment. We're extremely stoked (to use a word we learned in California) to love on the people of Croatia and begin our work in community and church building. Come be a part of our journey!
